FAQ
Why did you start making
music in the first place?

In 2012, I was a music addict. I was constantly trying to find the craziest sounding music. After years of doing this, I had an idea for music that would sound really interesting that I couldn't really find anywhere - a cross between the dubstep that I exercised to and the southern hip hop that I listened to every day.
Sound familiar? That genre would eventually evolve as "trap". I had a blast skipping class to make ratchet trap music for about a year or two, reaching the pinnacle of awesome after creating a trap remix of "wheels on the bus", the kids song. After that I had gained a small following on Soundcloud of around 400 and racked up more than 10K plays.
Although after uploading one too many bootleg songs, my account was banned for life. Yep, to this day I still can't register my email on Soundcloud because it was that level of mega banned. I was completely crushed. I didn't know where to go from there or what to do, so I did what most people would have done.

I quit.

I stopped making music for three years as I fought to put my life back together since my music dreams seemed all but out of reach and my grades were shot from spending so much time making music. But you can't run too far from something you truly love. So fast forward a few years, a lot of work, and a few leaps of faith, I'm currently working as a software engineer for a fantastic life insurance company called Haven Life, while also making music every single day. Before work I'll sing, after work I'll produce, during lunch I'll eat a sandwich while scrolling through splice finding interesting samples and sounds.

I've currently released six songs under my artist name, and real name, Nick Saenz since 2019. Going into 2021 I'm going to release twice that amount in one year.

And hey, here's a shameless ask since you made it this far but only because I have a feeling you might like it - if you'd like to hear my songs before they're released, or get exclusive discounts on my custom clothing made for creators, or just have a place to come read interesting stories from a website that isn't going to sell your data for ads - go to the JOIN tab and subscribe now.

Welcome aboard! I can't wait to show you the world of music through my eyes.

Love,
Nick
